SOFTWARE: The following software should be already installed on your computer:

  1. Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT 4.0, XP or newer Operating System.

  2. Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (IE 4.0) or newer.

  3. Screen resolution should be set to 1024x768 or 800x600 for best results and
    full-view of the program screens. To change the settings, right-click anywhere on
    the desktop screen. Click on "Properties" and then click on "Settings". Change the "Desk Top" area to 1024x768 to 800x600.

OPTIMIZING THE BROWSER:

  1. To receive the greatest customization please follow the instructions below and get
    familiar with your browser's functions and capabilities.

  2. Set your monitor resolution to 800x600 or 1024x768 for optimal view of screens & tables. Also, fonts should be set to Arial "small" for better viewing.

  3. CodeBuddy™ should open under Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE 4.0) after double clicking
    on the CodeBuddy icon on the desktop.

  4. If program does not open, or opens in another Browser installed on your computer, do
    the following:

    A. Open Windows Explorer (right click on START & select EXPLORE).

    B. Click on VIEW and then OPTIONS.

    C. Click on the "Files Type" tab.

    D. Browse and find the files with the *.htm and/or *.html extensions.

    E. When you find these extensions, they should state that they open with IEXPLORER. If another program is specified, you need to reset by editing the "open" option and having IEXPLORER as the program that open *.htm files. Browse to location where Explorer is on your disk and set accordingly. Usually, but not always, EXPLORER is located in the
    "PLUS!" or "INTERNET" folders located in "c:\programs files".

UNINSTALLING:

  1. When you installed from the CD, uninstall files were also included. This
    allows for clean uninstall of the program should you have to do so.
    Uninstall is an automatic feature once started. REMEMBER TO UNINSTALL
    THE PROGRAM  EVERY TIME YOU INSTALL A NEWER VERSION.

  2. Click on START (lower left side of screen). Pick SETTINGS and then CONTROL PANEL.

  3. Click on ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

  4. In the list below, find the "The Ins and Outs of Egress" program folder. Usually found at c:\program files\ or similar. Highlight the folder and then click on ADD/REMOVE.

  5. Follow instructions on the screen.

  6. It is recommended to use this method to remove the program from computer system
    instead of manually deletion the files.
