125-Volt, single-phase receptacle outlets within 5 ft. measured horizontally
from the inside walls of the hydromassage tub are
required to be GFCI-protected. NEC 680.71.
- All metal piping systems, electrical equipment metal parts and pump motors must be bonded together using No. 8 ( or larger) solid copper bonding jumper
(insulated, covered or bare).
- Metal parts of listed
equipment incorporating an approved double insulation system and providing
a grounding means for internal non accessible, concurrent carrying
metal pats must not be bonded. NEC 680.74.

rim or shower stall threshold. This zone is all encompassing and includes
the zone directly over the tub or shower stall..
